Two renowned Bay Area cycling brands come together for the 2023 season
Oakland, California (January 5th, 2023) — Enduro Bearings, innovators of a wide range of bicycle bearings, seals, components and tools, recently signed on to sponsor the 2023 Grasshopper Adventure Series (GAS), a long-running mixed-terrain event series that has become a favorite of many of the top names in the sport. This year’s five race series runs January through May and explores the hills, roads and trails of Sonoma, Napa, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt, Glenn and Colusa Counties in Northern California.
Along with financial and marketing support, Enduro Bearings is also supplying unique awards for the series. Each ‘medallion’ will be housed -- and can spin freely -- within an actual Enduro bearing. The medallion, with the etched Grasshopper logo, was created in house by the Enduro team.
“Some folks might recall that back in the day, I promoted a few events,” quips Rick Sutton, Enduro’s Business Development & Marketing Director. “I have profound respect and admiration for the sweat, the calories and the dollars that Mig [Miguel Crawford, GAS Founder] and crew have invested in creating and growing the Grasshopper Adventure Series. Over its 26 years, the Grasshopper Adventure Series has built a huge following from the NorCal cycling community and beyond. Early season “hard” miles are a must for established and upcoming road and dirt pros, and this year’s Hoppers are sure to welcome a very strong field. Previous races have seen international stars from road, gravel, cross and mountain biking including Enduro Bearings’ athletes Geoff Kabush, Katrina Nash, and Yuri Hauswald, along with XC World Champion Kate Courtney, and international road-pro-turned-gravel-racer-extraordinaries Laurens Ten Dam, Pete Stetina and Ted King, to name just a few.
