Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Monday, December 12th, 2022 - Louis Garneau launches a new line of kids bikes exclusively online! In addition to the regular children's bikes available at retailers, it is now possible to purchase four ultra-light and more technical bikes in the comfort of your living room.
"When I was three years old, my father gave me my first bicycle, a small used Italian bike. That one bike changed my life. I experienced the first independent form of transportation in a child's life: the bicycle. I felt like I could go anywhere, sometimes even fly. My ultimate goal with this new bike is to share it with as many children as possible." explains Louis Garneau, president and founder of Louis Garneau Sports.
The new collection of ultralight aluminum bikes also features high performance brakes, an ergonomic profile and is designed specifically for toddler learning. It includes four models with three choices of colors, from a balance bike to a 20-inch bike. Discover them here !
A GOLD MEDAL FOR EACH CHILD
Following the purchase of a kid's bike on the website, Louis Garneau offers parents the possibility to contact him to obtain a gold medal in their child's name to reward all his efforts on the bike! "Because if your child is balanced one day, it is a first victory, a first achievement. I had a magical moment the time I managed to balance and I remembered it all my life. I want to share with your family this emotional moment, this small victory in your child's life." adds the Olympian.
40 BIKES FOR THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF LOUIS GARNEAU SPORTS
The Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures company will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2023 and, for the occasion, wishes to support the next generation and give back to the community. To do so, 40 kids' bikes will be distributed free of charge to young people in need, 20 through the United Way organization, just in time for the holidays.
“In the regions that United Way Greater Toronto supports – Peel, Toronto and York, one in four families live in poverty. Having a bike – and all of the fun and independence that comes with it – is often out of reach for a child. Louis Garneau wanted to take action. This generous gift from Louis Garneau will enable kids to be kids – and supports United Way Greater Toronto’s belief that every person in every community deserves the opportunities, access and connections they need to build a good life, regardless of their income, the neighbourhood they live in, or their social identity.” – Ruth Crammond, Vice-President, Community Investment and Development, United Way Greater Toronto
