Francis Cebedo, the founder of forum-based media websites Mountain Bike Review (MTBR.com) and Road Bike Review (RBR.com), has left both outlets to pursue his passions for e-bikes and remote-controlled vehicles.
"I've spent more than 25 years building MTBR.com and RBR.com. I feel these sites brought riders together and enabled better riding and product experiences. It's a good time for me to try new mediums and focus on new categories. These sites now have the resources of VerticalScope and the insightful and trusted leadership of Josh Patterson," Cebedo said.
Cebedo, an early advocate of e-MTBs, plans to rapidly grow his new e-bike Youtube channel with lessons learned from the development of his remote-controlled vehicle channel, which is approaching 80,000 subscribers.
"E-Mtb Review is a chance for me to harness my decade of experience riding and reviewing e-bikes,” Cebedo added.
Josh Patterson, who joined VerticalScope in 2019, continues as editorial director of Mountain Bike Review, Road Bike Review and Outside Pursuits.
“Francis has a knack for building niche communities; I’m eager to see where this venture takes him. I will continue to lead Mountain Bike Review and Road Bike Review, ensuring that our sites are places where passionate riders from all walks of life can share their love of cycling.”
