Development of the National Sports and Events Center (NSEC), featuring the first World Class Indoor Velodrome in the Eastern United States is well underway in Coatesville PA, 35 miles west of Philadelphia.
While a robust, year round program of cycling development and competition will be a major focus of the NSEC, the 245,000 square foot, $60MM indoor complex will also host a year round schedule of entertainment, cycling and sporting events that is projected to attract 500,000 annual visitors.
Crosby Wood, Managing Partner of IDG Development, says the project will be completed in 2024 and is the cornerstone of Coatesville’s revitalization, a former industrial city of 14,000 in Chester County, the most affluent county in Pennsylvania. The Center will feature 12,000 square feet of sub-dividable commercial space within the building suitable for a variety of tenants that wish to locate a business in this unique facility.
“We are seeking expressions of interest from cycling, sports and health related businesses to locate at the NSEC,” said Wood. “So far we have commitments from Elite Therapy Solutions to drive development of an athlete performance center, World Cycling Limited to develop our cycling programs and Sports Facilities Companies to manage the facility as part of their national network.”
