(Park City, Utah): National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) and PeopleForBikes (PfB) will team up at The Big Gear Show (BGS) 2022 to host demo bike rides. There will be two group rides held each day of the show. The demo rides will be available to all registered retail and media attendees with the purpose of showcasing bike exhibitors at BGS 2022 (both pedal and pedal-assisted) as well as utilizing PfB’s highly acclaimed RideSpot app.
“These group rides will give us the opportunity to connect with retailers and other industry leaders and show them how they can use the RideSpot app to connect with their communities,” said Tobie Depauw, RideSpot affiliate wizard, PeopleForBikes. “We love every opportunity to work with NBDA to serve our industry.”
This formally organized group demo ride is a new introduction to BGS and will be an important component of the show for years to come.
"We want to provide all retailers in attendance a chance to demo some of the latest innovation in cycling, particularly with e-bikes," said Heather Mason, executive director, NBDA. "We're thankful to partner with PeopleforBikes. Their RideSpot app is an incredible resource for retailers looking to connect their communities to local ride routes.”
All registered bicycle brands are welcome to join the program and make their applicable demo fleets available for the rides. The rides will be on both Day 1 and Day 2 (August 2 and August 3, 2022) at 2pm until 3:30pm.
“I hope to see retailers from across the segments joining the daily rides to get acquainted with today's great technological advancements in urban bike models, both electric assist and pedal," said Lance Camisasca, bike show director, The Big Gear Show.
At 2 pm, riders will need to check in at the designated bike demo station, drop off their belongings, pick up demo bikes, adjust gear and download the Ride Spot app. At 2:15pm, the rides begin and will end between 2:30 and 3:30 pm, depending on the route.
The routes will follow Snow Park Lodge campus’ bike paths and bike lanes, with an option to ride Park City’s bike paths off-campus to see some historical sites just a few additional miles from the show. Each ride will be led by leaders from NBDA or PfB.
BGS/NBDA will have an online Demo Bike Reservation sheet with bike, brand and size where retailers can reserve a bike (first come, first served).
