All-new gravel race offers 76 miles of gritty off-road racing, focused on fun

(May 25, 2022– Salida, CO) - Team Evergreen is at it again - adding stellar events to its already robust line-up. The producers of Triple Bypass are now adding the all-new Salida76 gravel ride and race to the roster. Slated for Sept. 17, 2022, this event offers a “Timed” race category and an untimed “Party Pace” category - where you’ll still need to hit cut-offs (brownie points if you’re actually wearing jean cut offs), but you can ride at your pace.

At 76 miles, this ride hits the sweet spot of maximizing on end-of-season fitness while promising meaty climbs and thrilling descents. Registration for the race is open now.

“As we scouted and dreamed up this ride, we wanted to bring the fun, casual roots back to gravel riding and racing,” said Team Evergreen executive director, Jen Barbour.

“This race is made equally for competitive racers and those who want to explore at a mellow pace. Keeping it fun and approachable is all part of the plan.”

Like all Team Evergreen events, Salida76 will raise funds for local nonprofits. In this case, the proceeds will go to Chaffee County organizations like Salida Mountain Trails, among others.

“We are thrilled to work with Team Evergreen on the Salida76 and the lineup for Salida Bike Fest,” said Jon Terbush, executive director of Salida Mountain Trails.

“Their ability to put on unique bike events throughout Colorado is unparalleled. We can’t wait to welcome more riders to Salida to enjoy some of the best gravel riding and mountain biking in the region.”

Salida76 is part of Salida Bike Fest, which includes the Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race and the Crest Crank, for a whole weekend of dirt riding adventure.

While the Salida76 is all about keeping it chill, it is a remote route with big elevation gains that require support. The aid stations and rider camaraderie will be welcome for cyclists of any level.
