BOULDER, Colo. (February 10, 2022) - Pedego Electric Bikes, an award-winning national electric bike company with over 200 stores globally, partners with the Imagine! Foundation by donating an electric bike and two Best of Boulder Bike Tours in support of Imagine!s 21st Celebration Gala.
Pedego Boulder, which opened in June of 2018, provides e-biking access to over 300 miles of biking trails in the surrounding area. The store offers e-bikes for rental and purchase, as well as multiple unique guided bike tours focusing on a wide variety of scenery and activities. The e-bike and two Best of Boulder Tour Pass donations by Pedego Boulder offer new avenues for Imagine! to provide fun and healthy leisure activities to the members of the community that stand to benefit the most from these services.
Imagine! is a private, nonprofit organization based in Colorado that offers services focused on integrating people with developmental, cognitive, and physical challenges into the fabric of their local communities. Established in 1963, the organization supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from birth through their lives with therapeutic services, job training and placement, recreation and leisure activities, opportunities for community living, behavioral health services, technology solutions, and support for families.
"We at Pedego Boulder are very excited to support the efforts of Imagine!," said Tina Moses, owner of Pedego Boulder. "Thanks to our success since opening in 2018, we have developed a strong community of dedicated Pedego owners who are willing to support our store and our affiliations with local initiatives like Imagine! Moving forward we hope to continue to give back to this phenomenal organization that has done so much for our local community."
While electric bikes have been designed as a leisure tool, the operating modes have been deemed effective as a mobility rehabbing tool. Stroke victims, spinal cord injuries, MS, leg surgeries or individuals born with different motor function abilities may be able to improve their symptoms and mental well-being with motor-assisted biking. These rehabbing claims are supported through many brain studies such as this Science Daily study and the Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology at Oxford. While physical ailments can rely on the motor-assisted exercise for healing, users can also expect lower blood pressure, more energy, increased balance and flexibility and an overall better mood.
"We are delighted to see the evolution of e-bikes support people with disabilities and we are most grateful that Pedego Boulder donated an e-bike we can auction at our Imagine! Celebration," said Patti Micklin, Executive Director of the Imagine! Foundation. "The funds raised from the Imagine! Celebration will support Imagine!s programs and services, helping to create a world of opportunity for people of all abilities."
For those interested in supporting Imagine!, their 21st Annual Imagine! Celebration Virtual Gala with KBCOs Bret Saunders will take place on Saturday February 5th from 6:30-8:00pm. Registrants will be able to take part in the event from the comfort of their own home, and enjoy meals by Red F Restaurant Group delivered right to their door.
