Sept 30, 2021 (COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) - USA Cycling will host the second installment of the virtual Inclusion Conversations on Thursday, Oct. 7 from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. MDT. This month's conversation will be a panel discussion titled: Unpacking Race, Gender, and Socioeconomic Status. Shannon Jolly, DEI Professional, will moderate the panel and panelists will include Massimo Alpian, Cannondale & GT Bicycles; Elyse Rylander, Quality Bicycle Products; and Rahsaan Bahati, Bahati Foundation.
This is the second conversation in an ongoing monthly Inclusion Conversation series hosted by USA Cycling. The first session was held September 10 and was attended live by nearly 100 participants from across the USA and abroad, with audience members ranging from industry representatives, to riders to sport governing bodies. All sessions are being recorded and posted online for public access.
"While our intention was to host an in-person Inclusion Conference, we're pleased to see this format genuinely increased the reach and overall potential for participation," said USA Cycling President and CEO, Rob DeMartini. "We also discovered that while participation from industry professionals was strong, we had solid participation from teams and cycling organizations too.
We hope live attendance and replays of these conversations grow exponentially and serve as a catalyst and motivation for much needed change in the industry."
