BERKELEY, Calif. - The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) is pleased to welcome Bosch as a new Bronze Level sponsor in 2021. Bosch is supporting the country's largest and fastest growing youth cycling organization by providing funding and Trek eBikes and equipment from Burley and Bosch for NICA Leagues to support Teen Trail Corps activities.

Bosch, a worldwide manufacturer, distributor and marketer of eBike drive systems since 2009 is excited to be supporting NICA and its suite of mountain biking programs for youth development. Bosch eBike Systems works on the future of a mobility, which is healthy, and economically and ecologically sustainable. Nowadays over 70 leading bike brands worldwide trust the components 'epowered by Bosch.'

"Our whole team is excited about supporting NICA." says Steven Sheffield, Team Leader for Product Management and Business Development at Bosch, "We see potential for eBikes for coaches trying to keep up with these fast kids and we know eBikes are great tools for race organizers but mostly we just love what NICA is doing to get more kids on bikes. We love cycling and being part of the industry and we know that giving back goes with this involvement. We also appreciate NICA's commitment to trail work and advocacy. It's every rider's responsibility to give back so teaching kids early to pick up a shovel and get involved resonates strongly with our belief that you've got to "earn your turns" by helping out.

NICA Teen Trail Corps is a program that provides NICA student-athletes with the opportunity to serve and give their time towards bike related advocacy activities. It is designed to provide exposure and be a gateway for NICA student-athletes into the world of advocacy.

Bosch has partnered with Trek, Troy Lee Designs, Burley and Bosch's own Power Tool division to provide the Pennsylvania League and West Virginia League with a custom Bosch e-powered Trek Rail, Burley Trailer and suite of power tools to support Teen Trail Corps Activities. The Trek eBikes were customized by Troy Lee Designs with the NICA Values, Teen Trail Corps and League Logos. Two additional NICA leagues will be selected this Fall to receive eBikes and the same suite of equipment from BOSCH for Teen Trail Corps activities.

"We're thrilled to work with Bosch to support NICA programs, especially our Teen Trail Corps programs across our Leagues. Their innovative eBike systems facilitate work done with Teen Trail Corps, to engage our student-athletes in trail stewardship and advocacy and also support League race production and course setting. As student-athlete and coach participation continues to grow, it's important for us to expand our programs to include activities that empower our student-athletes to engage in advocacy and service toward the mountain biking community," said NICA President, Steve Matous.

This year, Bosch's sponsorship is helping to support over 25,000 student-athletes that are participating in 30 state and regional leagues across the country. NICA is excited to have Bosch join the growing community of cycling industry companies that are supporting our efforts to get #morekidsonbikes!
