An exciting new chapter for Cyclocross fans begins later this year, as the USCX Cyclocross Series and Global Cycling Network announce a global partnership to broadcast all races live and ad-free.
As part of a multi-year agreement, each of the four rounds of the brand-new North American series will be streamed across the GCN+ subscription platform. The coverage will include all C1 and C2 events, totalling eight races from four separate venues.
Starting in Rochester, New York, at Rochester Cyclocross September 25 - 26, the USCX Cyclocross Series then moves to Charm City in Baltimore, Maryland on October 2 - 3. Two weeks later, the series continues in Iowa City, Iowa, at the Jingle Cross three-day event on October 15 – 17 before the finale at Kings CX in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 23 – 24.
GCN+, part of the Discovery-owned Play Sports Group, has a rich history of bringing cyclocross content to a large and highly engaged audience. The partnership represents an exciting next step in its ongoing commitment to the sport. The United States is a key market for the platform, and the live, ad free coverage of each round will further bolster its portfolio of cycle sports and original documentaries.
Commenting on the partnership, USCX Series Co-Owner and Jingle Cross promoter John Meehan said: "The partnership with GCN is a huge step forward for cycling in North America. GCN does incredible work covering cycling events around the world, and we are excited to work with them to share this eight race, four venue series with international audiences. The increase in exposure for the athletes, sponsors and local communities is crucial for the sport's continued growth. We look forward to showcasing these great events to the world."
Daniel Lloyd, GCN Presenter and Director of Racing said: "Without doubt, Cyclocross is one of the most exciting disciplines of bike racing, and we've been a big supporter of it for some time. The partnership with USCX, a key US series, feels like a natural next step, as we continue to evolve the GCN+ offering to bring a diverse range of content to cycling fans all over the world."
Jeremy Powers, Four-time USA Cyclocross National Champion and GCN Presenter said: "I'm ecstatic to see this partnership come to life - it really highlights the push we have happening again in American Cyclocross.
With three World Cup rounds, The World Championships and now the eight-race USCX Series, this is a really exciting time for the sport in the US.
With high quality live streaming on GCN+, the coverage will help the sport grow, support our riders and give fans access to a premier series in North America!"
Broadcast times will be posted on GCN+ and USCX.us in due course.
