Madison, WI – February 3, 2020 – Pacific Cycle, a division of Dorel Industries, Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), today announced Mike Miranda has joined the team as a Director of Sales focusing on the Walmart business for Pacific Cycle Group.
In his new role, Mike will lead the sales team to drive growth at Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam's Club. For each account, there will be a concerted effort to deliver a compelling product offering for Schwinn, Mongoose and Kid Trax.
Prior to joining Pacific Cycle, Mike spent many years on the business side of the bicycle industry having worked for GT Bicycles in both product and marketing as well as at Cannondale as Territory Sales Manager. He was most recently Sales Manager at Hyper Bicycles. Mike returns to Dorel Sports to blend his experience in the IBD sector with his more recent experience working with mass merchants. Mike commented, "I like to get kids on bikes and working with brands like Mongoose and Schwinn, which I grew up with, will be the perfect opportunity."
Mike has a long history in the bicycle industry. Beginning his career as a professional BMX racer, Mike came to be known as "Hollywood" for his flamboyant style. Helping grow the sport during its formative years in California, Mike travelled the world racing for then industry leading brands CW and Hutch. His legacy goes beyond racing with his feature in the BMX movie 'Rad' in 1986, the same year he won the Nora Cup. "Hollywood" was inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame in 1992.
