Virginia-based Conte's Bicycle Group, LLC is pleased to announce that Gary Caudill will be joining the Company as in-house buyer for Apparel and Soft Goods. He and his family will be relocating from Ohio to the Company's Virginia Beach headquarters and he will travel to the Company's Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Florida stores.
After attending Ohio Wesleyan University, Gary entered the music marketing industry leading many professional campaigns for various artists and media companies. Cycling, however, was his passion so starting in sales at Performance Bicycle led him on the path to management of new store build-outs. He later joined roll: Bicycle Company as a buyer and planner, leading operations there for five years and developing pop-up relationships with brands such as Rapha, Tenspeed Hero, Ritte Bicycles, Giro and others.
Most recently, Gary has managed the US operations for brands such as Ridley, Eddy Merckx and Bombtrack, but his cycling passion has remained retail-centric, especially in clothing and branding.
In his spare time, Gary reportedly has a "mean golf game" and loves his overnight and multi-day bikepacking trips.
"Gary joins our Company with perfect timing as we onboard the requisite headquarters personnel and infrastructure to support our expanding retail footprint", said David Conte, co-owner of Conte's Bike Shop. "The apparel and soft goods sectors of our business will experience great stewardship under Gary's management", said Conte.
