Taiwanese companies attended in record numbers showcasing the region's latest technologies and innovations in cycling

11 September - Taipei: Taipei Cycle Show reflects on a productive four days at the Eurobike cycle industry event in Germany, and highlights key trends showcased by Taiwaneese companies in particular, and the market in general.

The 28th Eurobike ended with a total of 39,834 trade visitors and international participation from 99 nations. The Taiwanese industry was featured right across the three main pavilions, with 254 companies showcasing their ingenuity and manufacturing capabilities.

Key themes that emerged from this year's show included urban and e-mobility solutions, networking capabilities, custom 3D printing and children's cycling items.

During the event, Taipei Cycle Show hosted a successful press conference, which was attended by key global media with speakers from Bryton, Merida, Kenda and Buzzrack all offering their insight into the industry.

Gina Chang, from the Taiwan Bicycle Association, presented an industry forecast, which highlighted their goals for Taiwan to become the global hub for high end bicycles, R&D, innovation, manufacture and supply chain, alongside promoting smart cycling - creating an eco-friendly and sustainable environment for the future. The three key directions Chang feels Taiwan are moving towards are:

  • Cross-regional partnerships
  • Innovative integration - between technology and manufacturing
  • Customized services - no matter what the time zone
