Foothill Ranch, Calif., Sept. 5, 2019 – Bosch eBike Systems Americas announced today the hiring of seasoned marketer and brand specialist Jocelyn Vande Velde, who takes the helm as North America head of marketing for the industry-leading electric bike drive system manufacturer.
Most recently the brand manager for University of Wisconsin Credit Union, Vande Velde previously spearheaded marketing efforts for Trek hybrid and adventure bikes, where she led creation of a multifaceted global marketing strategy for eBikes, one of the fastest growing categories in the biking industry.
“As a lifelong cyclist who has been in love with eBikes since the first time I rode one, leading marketing for Bosch eBike Systems was an unmissable opportunity for me,” Vande Velde said. “I am thrilled to merge my greatest passions and use my expertise — from strategic planning to product development to brand activations — and help build upon Bosch’s mounting achievements in setting the standard for the future of bicycle mobility.”
A global player trusted by more than 80 leading bicycle brands, Bosch eBike Systems is celebrating 10 years of creating high-quality, reliable systems to make modern eBiking easier, more dynamic and safer than ever before. Company leaders say the timing is right to welcome someone with Jocelyn’s high level of expertise.
“Jocelyn is a recognized leader within the biking and mobility sphere, and her deep knowledge and experience make her an incredible asset as we continue to meet the increasing demand for our systems,” said Claudia Wasko, vice president and general manager of Bosch eBike Systems Americas. “This is an exciting and busy time for us, and we feel honored to welcome Jocelyn to our team.”
Prior to working at Trek, Vande Velde served as the director of education and sales training at Johnson Health Tech, a Taiwanese fitness equipment manufacturer that is one of the world’s largest. She also spent time at bike rack and training solutions leader Saris Cycling Group, as well as energy drink company Red Bull. Vande Velde holds a master’s degree in marketing and international business, and an undergraduate degree in business management from Western Illinois University. She joins Bosch eBike Systems at its headquarters in California.
