Eugene, Oregon based wheel company, Astral Cycling, has announced an all-new mountain bike line up. The new line adds 30mm mtb rims to their popular road and gravel wheels. The revamped line features new hub options in both 27.5" and 29" wheels. Stand-alone rims are also available for sale.

Astral Cycling is the sister brand to long-time USA wheel manufacturer, Rolf Prima Wheel Systems. Rolf Prima is best known for their paired-spoke wheel construction. Astral was launched in 2017 to meet the requests for those same high-quality rims and wheels in traditional lacings. As with Rolf Prima, all Astral wheels are engineered, tested and built in Oregon along with the majority of the alloy rims.

Astral's road and gravel wheels are built using long-time partner and California hub manufacturer, White Industries. Astral continues the emphasis on local, USA manufacturing with their new Bend, Oregon based mountain bike hub partner Project 321. Riders may now pick from an Astral hub machined by White Industries or upgrading to Project 321 hubs. These hubs will be laced to the new mountain rims which were designed using an asymmetric profile to improve spoke bracing angles and improve tension balance providing a stronger, stiffer wheel for the Serpentine, Serpentine Carbon (29"), Backbone or Backbone Carbon (27.5").

Alloy options are now shipping, with carbon flowing in early August. See www.AstralCycling.com for more details.
