Italian Bicycle Group N.A. Announces Distribution of Bike Ribbon Accessories and Handlebar Tapes in the United States
CASTLE PINES, CO—Italian Bicycle Group N.A., a bicycle import and wholesale distribution company of Italian cycling products to Canada, Mexico and the United States, announces today the distribution of Bike Ribbon in the United States.
Founded by Ermanno and Rosita Alberti in 1975, La Spirale Snc is credited with creating the first padded bicycle handlebar tape. With its patented design for variable thickness handlebar tape, La Spirale quickly caught the attention of Italian bicycle manufacturers and the Bike Ribbon brand was born.
Through the 1970's La Spirale remained at the cutting edge of handlebar tape development, and under the Bike Ribbon brand the company was first to market with Cork, EVA (i.e., foam) and imitation leather tape designs. In the 1980s' La Spiriale was first to produce multi-color handlebar tapes, followed by many technical advances for tape finishes through the 1990's and 2000's.
Today, La Spiriale offers nearly 25 models of handlebar tapes under the Bike Ribbon brand, which are available in over 150 color combinations. In addition to handlebar tapes, La Spirale offers a range of fixed gear, mountain and road bicycle accessories and parts including frame and saddle bags, handlebar gel pads, grips, and plugs, rim tapes and tubeless tire kits.
Italian Bicycle Group N.A. is currently establishing an authorized dealer network for the Bike Ribbon brand, and independent bicycle dealers (IBD's) are encouraged to contact IBGNA to set-up an account. All Bike Ribbon products are made in Italy, and custom handlebar tape designs are also available through Italian Bicycle Group.
