Madison, WI – Bicycle accessory manufacturer Saris has hired seasoned bike industry expert Jeff Weiss to head the sales and marketing departments as director. Weiss comes to Saris with nearly 15 years of experience in the bicycle industry; first at Trek, followed by 12 years at Pacific Cycle/Cycling Sports Group where he was Senior Vice President – International Sales.
Weiss’ hire comes on the heels of Jeff Frehner’s appointment as Saris President & COO and is part of the leadership team supporting Frehner in his new role.
“Jeff is one of the best in the business,” Jeff Frehner said. “I’ve known him for a number of years and have incredible respect for his character and integrity. We’re elated to have him on board doing what he does best: leading teams, nurturing customer relationships and having fun riding bikes. He checks all the boxes for what Saris needs in this crucial role, and we’re fortunate to have Jeff join our team.”
Weiss’ career path can best be summarized in three words – bicycles, sheep and coffee. Before entering the bike industry, he worked in New Zealand and the UK for a wool company and just out of college Weiss worked in the coffee trade.
“I couldn’t be more excited about joining the team at Saris,” Jeff Weiss said. “I’ve long admired the company’s passion and commitment to the bicycle community at large, not to mention the great products they manufacture right here in Madison.”
Please join Saris in congratulating Jeff Weiss on his new role and journey ahead.
