Online retailer moves all mountain bike gear onto CompetitiveCyclist.com

PARK CITY, UT (BRAIN) — Backcountry.com is consolidating its online bike business, closing its HuckNroll.com site and moving its mountain bike equipment sales onto CompetitiveCyclist.com.

"HuckNroll.com sold its last item at 5:59am (Tuesday)," the company announced.

"We didn't close HuckNroll because we don't want to sell mountain bikes, we closed HuckNroll because we do, and we know that honing our and our customers' focus on Competitive Cyclist will ultimately be what's best for our customers," Brendan Quirk, general manager of Backcountry.com's bike division, said in a statement. Quirk founded CompetitiveCyclist, which Backcountry bought last year.

Backcountry.com continues to operate RealCyclist.com and Chainlove.com. Bike gear also is sold on the Backcountry.com site since August.

Backcountry.com and the other sports sites mentioned are owned by Liberty Media, a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: LINTA) that owns QVC.com and Expedia.com, among other brands.

On Tuesday, traffic to HuckNroll.com was directed to this page on CompetitiveCyclist.com
