Published November 11, 2015

AUSTIN, Texas (BRAIN) — Austin retailer Division 1 Bicycles has closed after three years in business, and its remaining inventory will be auctioned off Nov. 21 through Austin Auction Gallery.

Division 1 was opened by father and son John Dalton Jr. and John Dalton III in 2012 in East Austin, an up-and-coming area of the Texas capital. The sleekly designed shop included a complimentary café with free drinks for customers, a spacious front patio and vibrant murals on the exterior by artist David Flores. Brands carried included Public, Bianchi, Cinelli, Shinola, Transition and Ventana.

Austin Auction Gallery said the liquidation auction will include high-end bicycles, accessories, clothing, GoPro cameras, Garmin cycling computers and thousands of other items. The auction process begins Nov. 19 and 20 with inspections at the auction house's building at 8414 Anderson Mill Road, followed by the liquidation sale on Nov. 21.
