BRAIN reveals Retail Remodel of Now Bikes

Published May 15, 2015

ST. PAUL, Minn. (BRAIN) — Now Bikes and Fitness hosted a party Thursday night to officially reveal the dramatic transformation of its store to customers. Festivities included food, live music, door prizes, discounts and Gold Sprint roller races, which replaced its regular Thursday Night Ride due to weather.

As the recipient of BRAIN's inaugural Retail Remodel Project, the 4,500-square-foot Now Bikes received a refresh that included a significant overhaul of the front of the store.

"Uncaving" the store was a big part of the project, which involved removing more than 100 bikes that had hung from the ceiling.

"I can't believe how much room there is," said Bob Sumada, Now Bikes' co-owner. "Our tall customers can all stand up in here now. Their posture is going to improve immensely."

And Sumada is only partially joking.

"We had nowhere to put all those bikes," Sumada said. "We don't have much storage. And we had hit the wall when it came to figuring out what to do next to improve the store."

BRAIN partnered with the retail design firm 3 Dots Design, and Mercedes Ross of Merchandising Werx to oversee the remodel, which wrapped up with a visit to Now Bikes in late April. Check out the teaser video and final reveal video below to see them in action.
