Felt recalls 645 bikes with carbon fiber seatposts that can crack

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Felt Bicycles is recalling 645 mountain bikes that came equipped with carbon fiber seatposts. The posts can crack and break, posing an injury risk. The company has received reports of 10 posts that cracked but no injury reports.

Consumers are being told to take their bike to a local Felt dealer for a free inspection and post replacement. Consumers can contact Felt Bicycles toll free at (866) 433-5887 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or online at feltbicycles.com.

This recall involves all model year 2015 Felt Double Double 30 (a fat bike), NINEe 20 (an e-bike) and Edict 1 (a full-suspension mountain bike). The bikes were sold at U.S. IBDs from August 2014 through September 2015 for between $2,000 and $5,500.
