Giro plans second Grinduro event for this fall

Published April 7, 2016

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) —  Giro Sport Design and co-sponsors Charge Bikes and SRAM will produce the second edition of its Grinduro festival this fall in Quincy, California. The event, which includes a enduro/gravel grinder competition, live music, food and camping, will be held Oct. 8 and is limited to 650 riders.

Contestants will compete on timed sections over a roughly 60-mile route with about 8,000 feet of climbing. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship.

The inaugural Grinduro was voted "Event of the Year" by Enduro Magazine. New for 2016 is a non-timed, half-distance route.

"We're proud to be a presenting sponsor of Grinduro," said James Hamilton, Charge Bikes' global marketing manager. "Grinduro fits perfectly with the Charge philosophy: riding is all about how much fun you have and what could be better than a festival weekend riding the Event of the Year and celebrating with a well earned beer or two at the end?"

Registration opens on April 17, at 8 p.m. PDT. The cost is $200 for the weekend including race entry, camping, and music as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday.

Event information can be found at Grinduro.com.
