KENT, Wash. (BRAIN) — Accell North America has named Larry Pizzi to the role of senior vice president of sales and marketing for the company's IBD channel business.
Pizzi remains president of ANA's Currie Tech business, which was officially integrated with ANA as of March 31. Pizzi, a former shop owner, has been connected to Currie Tech since 2002. Accell bought Currie in 2011.
"We are proud to welcome Larry into his new role as it is a critical position within ANAʼs leadership team, completely focused on enabling profitable partnerships for the IBD," said Chris Speyer, the CEO of ANA. "Larry brings great experience from the wholesale and retail side of the IBD channel in his career and is a champion of the dealer, and I look forward to great things for our Raleigh and SBS businesses moving forward under his leadership."
Pizzi said, "My career in this great industry has come full circle, considering the fact that my first job with a brand after serving the industry as an IBD in the 1980ʼs and early 1990ʼs, was with the one and only Raleigh Bicycles," Pizzi said. "Iʼm now able to bridge my manufacturer and retail career experience into leading ANAʼs commercial IBD strategy and I am privileged to once again support Raleigh and ANAʼs other leading-edge IBD brands."
Prior to joining Currie Tech and getting involved with electric bicycles, Pizzi was the senior vice president and GM of the bicycle division at Schwinn/GT and also held senior sales and marketing management roles at Brunswick Bicycle Division, the former owner of Mongoose Bicycles. He has also held sales management roles at Bell Sports, Service Cycle Corporation and Derby Cycle Corporation.
He owned and operated Bike Tech Stores, a chain of IBDs in Philadelphia from 1978 to 1990 and has served on the board of the National Bicycle Dealers Association as a director. Pizzi currently serves on the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association board.
