LOS ANGELES (BRAIN) — Universal Sports Network will present live television and online coverage of this Sunday's inaugural La Course by Le Tour de France, a new women's race being produced by the Tour de France. The coverage will begin at 7:30 a.m. ET.
The 90 kilometer race will conclude on Paris' Champs-Élysées. Expected competitors include Olympic and world champion Marianne Vos (Rabo-liv), England’s Lizzie Armitstead (Boels Dolmans) and Sweden’s Emma Johansson (Orica-AIS). The U.S.-registered teams Optum-Kelly Benefit, UnitedHealthcare, and Specialized-Lululemon also will race.
Olympian Dotsie Bausch will provide USN's commentary with Craig Hummer and Todd Gogulski.
Fans who do not normally receive Universal Sports Network as a part of their cable package will be able to watch La Course during week-long free previews from DIRECTV, Verizon FiOS, BendBroadband and CenturyLink Prism starting on July 22 and DISH starting on July 23.
Universal Sports Network is a partnership between NBC Sports and InterMedia Partners, LP. Besides La Course, this year USN will show the Vuelta a España, Volta a Catalunya, Tour of Belgium, Tour of Britain, UCI Road Cycling World Championships, UCI Track Cycling World Championships, UCI BMX World Championships, UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, and the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships.
