Hoffman launches new line of bikes at Dick's, made by Pacific

Published July 8, 2014

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Hoffman Bikes is launching a new line of entry-level bikes — including the brand's first 26-inch-wheel trail bike — at Dick's Sporting Goods. The line is being manufactured and distributed by Pacific Cycles, a division of Dorel Industries.

At the Taipei Cycle Show in March, Pacific introduced a different line of Hoffman bikes, intended primarily for speciality retailers in markets outside the U.S., including in Asia. That line retails for $200 to $500. The new line for Dick's will be priced from $140 to $300.

Hoffman Bikes founder Mat Hoffman said the line will serve as "a recruiter series."

"It's been exciting to build great bikes with Pacific Cycle's awesome resources and super-knowledgeable team," said Hoffman. "The Hoffman brand now has the opportunity to be exposed to a brand new generation of riders. We want everyone, no matter their ability, to have access to our bikes, and Dick's is the perfect retail partner."

The 2014 Dick's line includes the Aves, Carrion, Cirrus and Condor models, in 18-inch and 20-inch, as well the Talon and Wing models and the new trail bike, called the Version.

"At Pacific Cycle, we focus on integrating innovation in our products," said Jeff Rogers, Pacific Cycle's general manager. "We are thrilled to partner with such a progressive brand like Hoffman. Its constant interest in developing the sport of BMX aligns perfectly with the direction of Pacific Cycle."

Mat Hoffman will make appearances at Dick's store nationally this year for in-store bike demos.
