MORGAN HILL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Specialized Bicycle said more than 1,000 women participated in its 3rd annual Women's Ride Day, held May 31.

More than 100 Specialized retailers hosted group rides for their female cycling community on the day, with the goal of providing all women an opportunity to enjoy a day of riding together.

"We had a great turnout. I will continue to lead a woman's ride on a monthly basis," said retailer Nicole Jaeger of Black Mountain Bicycles.

The company is already planning to expand next year's event.

The Women's Ride gathers at Tom’s Pro Bike Shop in Lancaster, New York.
