Nutrition brand also offers new flavors for protein bar.

SALT LAKE CITY (BRAIN) — Probar is renaming its protein bar as part of a company-wide "brand refresh," the company said. The bar formerly known as the Probar Core is being renamed the Probar Base.

"The change to Probar Base will serve to avoid any potential confusion in the marketplace with existing products using the name "Core." Additionally, the name Probar Base is more closely aligned with the demographics and positioning of the product," the company said.

PROBAR was founded ten years ago; it introduced the CORE protein bar last year.

Besides the name change, the company is updating other graphics related to the bar and adding two new flavors: Frosted Peanut Butter and Chocolate SuperGreens. The new flavors will be available mid-summer.

The BASE bars have 20 grams of plant protein, are gluten free and have 4-5 grams of fiber. Suggested retail is $2.79.
