Bike Summit, Women's Forum open despite DC's snow

Published March 3, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — Despite a snowstorm that has caused the cancelation of hundreds of flights and a shut down of most government offices in the nation's capital, the League of American Bicyclists' annual National Bike Summit and National Women's Bicycling Forum opened as planned Monday morning.

"We know travel to and around the city will be challenging, and some public transit will not be running. ... Please plan significant additional transit time," the LAB advised Summit participants in an email Sunday evening.

Editor's note: BRAIN web editor Steve Frothingham, who had planned to attend the Summit, will not attend because his flight from Denver to Washington on Monday was canceled. If you are at the Summit and you have some news to share, please contact Steve at sfrothingham@bicycleretailer.com
