MALLABIA, Spain (BRAIN) — Orbea has opened a new North American headquarters in Little Rock, Ark., and has added an Eastern bicycle warehouse in Raleigh, N.C. to accommodate the Spanish bike brand’s increased production for the U.S. market.

Orbea’s North American sales, marketing, finance and after-sales service team are housed in the new headquarters, along with numerous global product and marketing positions.

The new space will include a 4,000-square-foot showroom to promote Orbea’s bike range and its Orca line of triathlon clothing and wetsuits. It also houses a 10,000-square-foot warehouse to manage the clothing and wetsuit business.

“The U.S. is a strategic part of Orbea’s future, and we are proud to open a modern and collaborative new facility to promote our brand and better connect with our retailers,” said Jon Fernandez, Orbea’s global managing director.

Additionally, Orbea has opened a new bike warehouse in Raleigh to complement the company’s Western warehouse in Reno, Nev. “Having an East- and West Coast warehouse allows us to better service our customers and streamline our operations,” Fernandez said.

Orbea has further invested in its North American operation by purchasing 100 percent of subsidiary Orbea USA. Tony Karklins, Orbea USA’s founding partner, has shifted to the role of North American director of sales and marketing with a special emphasis on global road marketing.

“I am very proud of what we have accomplished in the U.S. market with Orbea, and I look forward to our next phase of growth,” Karklins said.
