Leisure Trends founder Jim Spring dies at 75

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Jim Spring, the founder of Leisure Trends Group and a leader in tracking and analyzing the retail sports industry, died Monday at 75.

Spring was well-known across the sports retail world from his many columns, articles and speeches. He founded LTG in 1989 with his wife, Joy. He wrote three books on retail management and use of statistical information and was a former executive editor of SKI magazine. He and Joy retired from LTG in 2010 and remained on the company's board of directors.

Besides his wife, Spring is survived by three children, James Wright Spring, Elizabeth Hayden Spring and Thomas Cody Clarke Spring, his wife Laura, and two grandchildren, Sophia and Maxwell Spring.
