WD-40 Bike jumps into cyclocross

SOLANA BEACH, CA (BRAIN) — Newcomer WD-40 BIKE, the bike product subsidiary of WD-40 Company, is using cyclocross racing to gets its name established among cyclists this year. 

The company plans a presence or sponsorship at the Trek USGP of Cyclocross series, the UCI Masters World Championships and Elite World Championships in Louisville, and CrossVegas. Also, WD-40 will sponsor the Rapha-Focus cyclocross team, including national champions Jeremy Powers and Zach McDonald. 

"Cyclocross is the perfect venue to prove the mettle of our new products," said WD-40 BIKE's Mike Irwin. "The sport features an energetic setting, ultra-competitive racing and the frequent presence of extreme elements ... all of which highlight the importance of superior bike maintenance. We expect to have a lot of fun on the cyclocross scene."

WD-40 BIKE will have a tech support program at many 'cross events, offering bike wash and lube services to all competitors and providing free samples.
