Stages opens European office

Published December 12, 2013

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Power meter brand Stages Cycling is opening an office in Kirchzarten, Germany, that will handle sales and distribution of its products within Europe. Saddleback LTD will continue to exclusively distribute Stages to dealers in the U.K. and Ireland.

Industry veteran Sebastian Eckmann will direct the Stages Europe office.

The company said the European offce will mirrors Stages' U.S. practice of selling direct to dealers and consumer direct.

“The Stages Cycling Europe office not only provides access to our product in Europe,” said Doug Crawford, Stages vice president, “it ensures we maintain very close and direct relationships with our dealers and riders.”

Stages began shipping its crankarm-based power meter in early 2013, after introducing it at the 2012 Interbike show. The company attaches the sensor to aluminum crank arms from Cannondale, FSA, Shimano, and SRAM. The attachment is done at Stages' Boulder facility.

The company said its products are available now in limited models and quantities to most European countries. Stages Cycling Europe plans to have the full range of Stages Power meters available in mid-January.
