NEW YORK, NY (BRAIN) — The owner of Interbike may be for sale, industry trade site ExpoWeb.com is reporting.
ExpoWeb cites multiple sources who say that Nielsen Holdings NV has hired an investment bank to explore the sale of its show division, which also includes the Outdoor Retailer shows, the Hospitality Design Expo and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. Nielsen also owns Bicycle Retailer & Industry News, which is operated under license by NBDA Services Inc.
Bloomberg is reporting that Nielsen hired Credit Suisse Group AG to handle the sale. Nielsen Expositions president David Loechner has declined to comment to ExpoWeb.
Nielsen Expositions generated $183 million in revenue in 2011, or about 3 percent of Nielsen Holdings' total.
