CPSC recalls Ecnup kids helmets sold on Amazon

Published August 29, 2023

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled Ecnup multipurpose kids bike helmets sold on Amazon because they don't comply with federal safety standards for coverage, positional stability, and labeling.

No incidents nor injuries have been reported.

About 215 helmets are affected in size extra small (XS), fitting a head circumference of about 18½ to 20½ inches. The helmets are pink, blue, "dinosaur blue," or "aqua ocean world" with red movable padding, black straps, and black buckle. The serial number SL712-202201 and November 2022 are printed on a white label on the inside.

Consumers should stop using the helmets and contact Ecnup of China by email or through the messaging portal on Amazon.com. To receive a refund, destroy the helmet by cutting the straps and emailing photos of the destroyed helmet. Ecnup is contacting all purchasers directly.

The helmets were sold from January 2022 through February 2023 for between $20 and $30.
