CHATTANOOGA, TN (BRAIN) Thursday May 3 2012 11:22 AM MT—Chattanooga will host USA Cycling's professional road and time trial championships next year and for two years after, the organization announced here on Thursday.

Greenville, South Carolina, has hosted the championships since 2006; prior to that, they were held in Philadelphia.

Besides the venue change, USAC is mixing things up by adding professional women's events and adding a new title sponsor, Volkswagen of America.

Organizers said the event's time trial course will probably be near a Volksmagen plant in Chattanooga, while the road race course will likely feature a climb up Lookout Mountain, which featured in the Tour de Georgia.

Volkswagen of America has signed a four-year sponsorship with USAC. Part of the agreement is that VW will donate $250 to the USA Cycling Development Foundation for every car sold to a USA Cycling member each year of the sponsorship.
