Talk show goddess Ellen Degeneres sent 400 audience members and viewers home with Specialized Sirrus bicycles last week as part of her popular 12 Days of Giveaways segment.

Everyone received gift certificates redeemable at their local Specialized dealer for a brand spankin' new bike courtesy of the Big S.

The brand will partner with Ellen again in the spring for another promotion.

"The details are still being worked out, but given Ellen's popularity on TV and with social media this is a great way to get the Specialized brand in front of a wide range of viewers, cyclists and non-cyclists alike," said Tara Moeller, U.S. marketing manager for Specialized.

In fact, Moeller says, after Degeneres (or realistically one of her staff) tweeted about the giveaway, Specialized gained 700 new Twitter followers. Not too shabby.
