SANTA FE, NM (BRAIN)—BTI has inked an exclusive deal with De Marchi to distribute the manufacturer's apparel for 2010.
De Marchi Sport s.r.l. designs and manufactures performance handmade cycle wear from its factory in San Vendemiano, Italy. Operated by three generations of the family from which it takes its name, the company's 63-year history is intrinsically linked to the story of cycling. De Marchi has clothed many of the sport's titans—from the great Fausto Coppi to current Team Ag2r—with 38 world championships in between.
Believed to be the oldest cycle specific clothing company currently in existence, De Marchi is by no means content to dwell on the past. De Marchi pioneered the use of many innovations that have come to be regarded as standards in the cycling community; elastic short inserts (as well as gel inserts), air pumps, super anatomic designs and shorts made entirely without stitching. The company readily embraces new materials and is consistently at the leading edge of performance garment design
BTI will begin to stock inventory this fall with the debut of De Marchi's 2010 Spring-Summer collection. U.S. shops can get their first glimpse of the brand at BTI's booth during Interbike this September.
