WTB Hires Northwest Tech Rep

Published April 8, 2009

MILL VALLEY, CA (BRAIN)—Wilderness Trail Bikes has added Kenny Burt to the company’s U.S. Tech Rep team.

WTB is ramping up its tech rep team to strategically increase its brand awareness and sales across the country.

Burt has a strong background in both sales and cycling. Burt is the Pacific Northwest region tech rep. He will be joining three other regional tech reps including Cecilia Potts, the Southwest rep; Jackie Baker, the Rocky Mountain rep; and Pete Pelychaty, the Eastern region rep. This tech rep team will be traveling to dealers and events nationwide, building the brand and educating shop employees about WTB’s extensive product line.

Burt is a bike industry veteran and joins WTB after working for four years at Sinclair Imports (a bicycle components distributor based in Verdi, Nevada).

“Kenny has been a part of the extended WTB family for years,” said Gary Gleason, WTB’s director of sales and marketing. “We were already familiar with his charismatic personality and tenacious spirit from the mountain bike race circuit.” Burt started racing mountain bikes in 1994 and currently races at the pro level in cross-country and downhill.

“It’s an honor to work for a company with such a long-standing tradition,” Burt said. “WTB is a solid brand in every category, from their high-quality components to their advocacy efforts and grassroots race support. It’s top notch.”

Burt now resides in Sparks, Nevada, and will focus on increasing WTB sales throughout the Northwest, including California’s Bay Area. In between dealer visits, Burt is looking forward to training and racing with his longtime friends (and WTB employees) Jason Moeschler and Mark Weir.
