Currie Taps Speck as Dealer Sales Director

Published May 6, 2008

CHATSWORTH, CA (BRAIN)—Currie Technologies has hired Dan Speck as director of dealer sales. He will oversee all aspects of building a new dealer sales organization at Currie.

Currie Technologies is a developer, manufacturer and distributor of quality, high-performance hybrid and electric powered vehicles and personal transportation products.

“Dan brings with him over 30 years of experience in the bicycle industry. Since 1976, Dan has performed various sales and sales management roles at many of the major bicycle companies in California including Diamondback, Giant and GT,” said Larry Pizzi, Currie’s president. “Dan knows the dealers and has earned their trust and respect over many years of dedicated service.”

Speck will work initially to develop a strong IBD network for Currie’s line of iZIP hybrid electric bicycles in the Southern California region. His short-term goal is to work with the local dealers to create a perfected pilot program and build a model sales territory in the company's home market.

Once Speck is confident that Currie has all the necessary dealer support structures in place, he will turn the territory over to a sales representative that he will hire and then move onto the next target market to duplicate the process. Currie plans to have at least five strong dealer territories in strategic markets around the country established by the end of 2009.
