NEWPORT, VT (BRAIN)—Canadian company Louis Garneau is adding one more product category to its offerings with the introduction of an energy gel line. It will follow it up with an electrolyte sports drink and more nutritional offerings, according to a press release.

Louis Garneau markets and sells cycling and triathlon apparel, helmets and shoes in more than 30 countries and offers a complete line of bikes for the Canadian market. It also sells snowshoes in Canadian and U.S. bike/ski and outdoor shops.

The move into nutrition is in line with the company’s goal to provide one-stop shopping.

“During my cycling career, nutrition always played a vital role in my success. As a cycling company, we work with athletes on a daily basis and therefore, had the desire to provide them with products essential for their training and racing. The launch of LG Energy will allow us to continue to be the cycling solution,” said Louis Garneau, company founder and president, in a press release.

Garneau Nutrition will offer six flavors of LG Gel. The line is made with natural ingredients. Packaging is designed for quick-no-struggle opening on the bike or during a run. LG Gel will be available throughout U.S. and Canadian bike shops.
