SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Currie Technologies, a division of Accell North America and maker of IZIP and eFlow electric bikes, has appointed Mark Rushmann as its Midwest territory manager. Rushmann will oversee sales in both the IBD and specialty channels in 15 states, and reports to Rob Kaplan, Currie's vice president of sales and marketing.

"E-bike growth, as a category, is surging as never before," said Kaplan. "We are very pleased to find someone with Mark's background and enthusiasm to support sales in the Midwest."

Rushmann replaces David Cabanban, who recently began working with Bosch eBike Systems, a supplier to Currie Tech.

"Not only does Mark understand the challenges faced by IBDs, he's a talented sales person, experienced mechanic and lifelong cyclist who believes in the benefits of e-bikes," said Kaplan.

Rushmann, who lives in Madison, Wis., most recently worked as store manager for Budget Bicycle Center. He was responsible for all operations including training and supervision of sales staff, tracking sales goals, and purchasing inventory. He has been a small business owner as well.

"I'm enthusiastic about cycling, especially when it involves working with bicycles as a way to better our environment and help people live healthier lives," said Rushmann. "I'm looking forward to representing IZIP and eFlow and helping retailers move the needle higher with their e-bike business."

Currie Tech's midwest sales territory encompasses Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. He can be contacted at mrushmann@currietech.com.
