Published March 5, 2015

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — SureStop — formerly known as Slidepad Technologies — has relocated from the Silicon Valley city of Palo Alto to Southern California in order to position the company closer to customers and partners, and has hired Al Nordin as its new CEO. Nordin previously served as an executive adviser to the company, which produces a single-lever anti-lock braking system.

In his new role, Nordin will help lead the company’s global growth, development and partnerships in the bicycle industry. Prior to joining SureStop, Nordin was president of the NuVinci bicycle division, where he launched a new drivetrain.

“The bicycle industry has a strong history of innovation with a focus on improving the performance and safety of the bicycle,” Nordin said. “SureStop is a unique, innovative product aimed at improving the safety and simplicity of braking for riders of all skill levels. I am excited to be part of the SureStop team and strongly believe SureStop provides OEMs and bike dealers the opportunity to differentiate bicycles and attract a broader audience all while improving safety and simplifying the bicycle riding experience.”

SureStop’s new offices are in Orange County at 18 Technology Drive, Suite 128, Irvine, Calif. 92618. The company said in a release that it has seen increased growth in the number of brands and dealers who sell bicycles with its brakes. For the 2015 model year four brands spec’d SureStop, and the company expects to announce 15 OEM brands for the 2016 model year.
