Custom clothing brand Jakroo USA buys its Canadian distributor, hires new marketing manager

Published January 20, 2015

PLEASANTON, Calif. (BRAIN) — Jakroo USA has bought its former Canadian distributor, Hayman Sport Inc. In addition to new employees and reps that came with the acquisition, Jakroo has hired Tsering Alleyne as its new marketing manager.

The acquisition of Hayman Sports means former road racing professional Ron Hayman will become a Jakroo employee. Jakroo also is picking up three sales reps.

Hayman is a former Canadian Olympian and team captain of the 1980's 7-Eleven team. As the head of the sales team in Canada, he will focus on wholesale accounts and strategic partnerships. Jakroo Canada is based in Vancouver, B.C.

"Since we own our production facility, we are able to oversee quality closely and make changes quickly when needed," said Derek Wiseman, Jakroo USA's COO.  Jakroo offers no minimums, a two-week turn around, and free professional designs. The company, founded in 1996, said it has experienced double-digit growth in the last few years.

Alleyne comes to Jakroo from a marketing position at Marin Bikes. He is an avid mountain bike rider and racer in Northern California and draws on experience from a sales background and years managing small teams.
