Published January 14, 2015

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — The IBD Summit is now filled to capacity and sponsorship opportunities are sold out as well, the event's organizers announced Wednesday.

The last of the 75 retailer slots for the event were filled Tuesday. The event is Jan. 27-29, in Tempe, Ariz. Its presenting sponsors are Interbike, PeopleForBikes and the NBDA.

"To say that we're thrilled is an understatement," said Justin Gottlieb, communications and PR director for Interbike. "At this point we're looking at more than 225 people attending the event including sponsors, retailers, media, etc. – more than twice the amount we've had at any single IBD Summit since launching it in 2011."

Recently added sponsors include Shimano, CamelBak, Subrosa and Eddy Merckx. Recently added retailers include Bike Line, Bicycle Johns, Helen's Cycles and Cycle Craft.

Pat Hus, the vice president of Interbike, said, "It's clear that we struck a nerve within the cycling community. ... We plan to deliver a top-notch event that will not only unite us as an industry, it will offer a forum to discuss solutions to the challenges we face today and in the future as we transition into a new phase of bicycle retail."
