WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (BRAIN) — The company behind Optic Nerve sunglasses and goggles is renaming itself and launching a second sunglass brand, to be called One by Optic Nerve.

Optic Nerve's parent company has been called Mountain Shades Inc. for more than 30 years, but it will now be called Optic Nerve Eyewear.

"We realized it's time to evolve," said Bill Cotton, who owns the company along with Tom Fox. "Doing business as Optic Nerve Eyewear will give us the unified corporate voice and widespread brand platform we need to carry out our mission on a larger scale."

The new brand, One by Optic Nerve, is at a more accesible price than Optic Nerve's previous products. The brand's tagline will be "Optic Nerve for Everyone."

Where Optic Nerve retail prices range from $49 to $129, One prices will be from $19 to $39. The One line glasses will all be polarized and the line will include fashion, performance and kids' styles. The One line will be launched at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Utah, from Aug. 6-9.
