DURANGO, Colo. (BRAIN) — Adrian Montgomery, formerly of Backcountry.com and Scott USA, is joining Colorado-based PR and marketing agency Verde Brand Communications. Montgomery will head up Verde's bike division.

Montgomery will oversee marketing, PR, paid-media, and social/digital campaigns for Verde's bike division clients, who include Raleigh, Diamondback, Lapierre, Rocky Mounts, People for Bikes, Tern/BioLogic and Moxie Cycling.

"Having Adrian join our team solidifies the agency's commitment to the cycling space – he's a true pro with authentic bike 'chops,'" said Kristin Carpenter-Ogden, Verde's founder and CEO.

Verde has outdoor, action sports, snow sports and bike divisions. Until Montgomery's arrival, Carpenter-Ogden had been heading up the bike division, which she said had roughly doubled in the last year.

'Bringing in someone of his background and caliber was a big commitment for us, but something we had to do," she said.

Montgomery said he's well suited for Verde's culture.

"I enjoy the prospect of brand diversity through consultation and being part of a multi-segment agency that has established business in outdoor, action and winter sports," Montgomery said. "The crew at Verde collectively possesses a varied skillset across all established and emerging marketing mediums. Verde embodies the definition of a 'full service' agency and I'm proud to be part of a team who truly is leading the future of integrated brand communications in our core markets."

Montgomery will remain living in the Park City, Utah, area in the short term, and will work frequently from Verde's offices in Boulder, Colo., and Jackson, Wyo. He plans to move back to the Ketchum, Idaho, area in a few months.
