Hydrapak expands Bay Area headquarters

Published January 21, 2014

OAKLAND, Calif. (BRAIN) — Hydration system manufacturer Hydrapak has completed an expansion of its San Francisco Bay Area headquarters as the company broadens U.S. distribution of its SoftFlask collapsible bottles for gels and liquids.

The 10,000-square-foot facility includes a new in-house photo studio, an expanded quality-control testing lab and storage space for increased product inventory. An additional 1,000 square foot office space, two common areas and enlarged development quarters will more comfortably accommodate the 10-person staff and anticipated employee growth, Hydrapak said in a release.

“Being a lifestyle company, we strive to create an environment that fuels creativity, active living and fun,” said Hydrapak president Matt Lyon. “We wanted to stay true to the company’s wellness-oriented culture, so the new sun-lit offices feature ergonomic stand-up desks and showers for employees who run or bike during the day.”

The expansion comes on the heels of Hydrapak’s new partnership with REI, which selected SoftFlasks for its “First to Market” program, selling exclusively at the outdoor retailer’s 129 REI stores through May.
