Sean Sullivan leaves Mavic

Published November 21, 2013

NEWBURYPORT, MA (BRAIN) — Sean Sullivan, Mavic’s director of marketing, announced Thursday that he has left the company after eight years.

“I have mixed emotions about leaving Mavic. I’m very passionate about the product, the brand and the people but it’s a good time to move on,” Sullivan said in a statement he sent to BRAIN. “I’ve poured a lot of hard work into the company but I’m looking for some new challenges and a better fit for my family life.”

Since 2005 Sullivan had been responsible for all marketing in the U.S., overseeing the communications, athlete sponsorship, events, merchandizing and Mavic’s neutral assistance program.  This was Sullivan’s second tour of duty with Mavic as he had worked there from 1995 to 1998 as well.

“Mavic has seen a lot of change over the almost two-decade stretch of time I’ve worked there, but two things remain a constant; great people and great products,” he said. “What’s next?  I’ll be consulting with a local non-bike industry business short term while looking for my next bike industry adventure.”
