SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN) Feb 15, 15:27 MT—Former world champion downhill racer Leigh Donovan is joining Interbike as an account executive.

Donovan is a nine-time U.S. champion and the 1995 world professional champion. Since retiring from racing in 2001, she has co-owned and managed an apparel store and raised a family. She returned to racing in 2010 and finished eighth in the world championships that year.

Donovan will be responsible for handling accounts on the West Coast and New England and will report to Interbike sales manager Andria Klinger.

“Bicycles have given me almost everything that I’ve attained in my life – I’m at home with bikes,” said Donovan. “I’m really excited to start working with and serving so many of the great suppliers in our industry here with Interbike. And as a retail store owner for eight years, I’ve also walked the other side of the aisles and understand the needs of buyers attending the show.”

The 2012 Interbike opens September 17 with the two-day OutDoor Demo in Boulder City, Nevada, followed by the Expo at the Sands Convention Center September 19-21 in Las Vegas.
