Sugoi Hires Weiner as President of Dorel AFG

BURNABY, British Columbia (BRAIN)—Sugoi Performance Apparel, part of the Apparel Footwear Group (AFG) division of Dorel Industries, has appointed Kyle Weiner as president of Dorel's Apparel Footwear Group.

Robert P. Baird, president of Dorel's Recreational/Leisure segment said, “Weiner comes to Sugoi with over 20 years of extensive experience in all aspects of business management. He began his career by spending 11 years in leadership roles around the world at Nike, marking the start of a solid history of direct experience with consumer products, primarily in the footwear and apparel industry.”

Weiner has since held senior positions with multiple high profile apparel brands, including K-Swiss, Callaway Golf and Easton-Bell Sports. Most recently he was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Barco Uniforms. Through his experience, he has gained a solid background in product creation, marketing, merchandising, sales and financial planning.

“Kyle’s breadth of experience in the sports apparel industry will be a tremendous asset for Sugoi as we continue to build our leadership position in high-performance apparel,” Baird said. “Dorel is a world player in its sectors, and is committed to ensuring the success of all of its companies. Kyle has the skills and experience required to further grow and develop this brand and we are confident he will make a signification contribution to ensuring our plans come to fruition.”
